Trade Review: Stacked Decks

Trade Twenty-Five: Pawnee/Phoenix

The Uprising dealt RB Willis McGahee to Orgrimmar on October 3rd for WR Greg Jennings. Orgrimmar then dealt RB McGahee to Pawnee for WR Rueben Randle on October 16th, as both teams needed to supplement depth at different positions. Now the journeyman veteran comes back to Phoenix in a depth deal for LB Aldon Smith. Smith was a destructive force through three games for Flint (nee Teamville) before a medley of off the field issues forced him from the gridiron. Following rehabilitation, he returned with a contract in Phoenix, where he won a championship in 2011- However Phoenix had a full cavalry of middle linebackers as per their scheme, so they sent the big play maker to Pawnee, where he will try to cement a role. At this point in his career, McGahee is more of an insurance policy in a crisis, and optimally will remain fourth string. If called upon, he has one of the friendliest RB schedules down the stretch.
