Trade Review: If It Ain't Broke, It Might Break

Trade Twenty-Six: Levee/Pawnee

A couple of 4-5 Peters matched up for a big time deal, an old fashioned RB/TE RB/TE swap. Both sides ended up upgrading at one spot, and downgrading at the other: Pawnee ended up with RB Frank Gore and TE Garrett Graham- Gore has been reliable into his advanced age, still toting the ball and pumping his legs to top 10 status. As with any older player, health has to be a concern, but Gore has shown no obvious signs of fatigue. He pairs with Alfred Morris to give the PJers the top notch RB duo they have hungered for all season. With the good comes the bad though, a downgrade at tight end: Graham went off in three of the season's first four weeks, along with an ominous 0-fer; Since, he has put up a month of single digits. His context has changed though, so perhaps he can elevate his game once again. On the Levee side of things, they get Orange Julius Thomas, a little ballyhooed TE that had been a monstrous asset at a bargain price. He has been struggling with an ankle injury, but should play this week, and is an obvious upgrade for the G-Men at a troubled spot. RB Rashad Jennings is probably not the answer at RB as he is not assured carries beyond this week. But he might be able to provide a solid transition this week, as RB Adnre Brown returns to health and gets his legs under him. Either one will play compliment to RB CJ Spiller, who finally turned on the afterburners last week. It was a ballsy move, but one Levee could afford to make; I wonder if they might have been better served acquiring RB Peyton Hillis, Brown's likely platoon mate, who would retain top billing if Brown falters. ALAS!
