Season Analysis:
A couple of weeks into the season, the defending champs looked the part, but it all came crashing down as they lost seven of the next eight, rarely shining better than average output. With the trophy in hand, trade opportunities were scarce. Locker room turmoil played a part (Ajayi and Lynch both had their own soap operas) while a host of other veterans (Maclin, Decker) could not muster much more than their floor and a trio of rookies struggled: Rueben Foster was very good in his return from injury, while Corey Davis flashed and John Ross crashed. A change at quarterback late in the season, as well as Keenan Allen joining Michael Thomas at the WR1 table led to three straight wins, and five of six through the consolation bracket, netting the team the third overall pick in LBX, and giving the year a level of decency it would have otherwise lacked. They'll surrender the silver chalice after one turn around the sun, but should be primed to make another go of it in 2018.
