XI: Week Fifteen Recap

For the first time in Larkspur Bowl history, we're getting a rematch in the big game- a year ago, Hill Valley defeated Pawnee to capture their second title. Now, they can defend the Silver Chalice against a familiar foe, or the Pride can capture what has eluded them for years- hoping the third time is the charm.

Before we look at brackets, previews, and draft position, lets recap the season's penultimate action:

Week 15 Matchups

LARKSPUR BOWL BRACKET:
#1 Hill Valley McFlys defeat #4 HCM Lead Farmers
The Lead Farmers took an early lead on Sunday, with Jameis Winston and Christian McCaffrey doing their part to punch a ticket to HCM's second ever Larkspur Bowl, but it was to no avail. A little bit of controversy ended up not mattering, as Hill Valley simply overpowered their opposition, with twelve players notching double digit output, with the surprise MVP being former bust Breshad Perriman being the difference. (The margin of victory ended up being Perriman + late addition Nick Vannett.)
OPOG: QB Jameis Winston HCM (36.42)
DPOG: LB Jayon Brown HVM (21.0)

#2 Pawnee Pride defeat #3 New York's Finest
While Lamar Jackson kicked things off showing why he is the present and the future of the NFL for the Finest, Drew Brees answered late showing he's just as present and accounted for, pitching a nearly perfect game and turning a nail biter into a no doubter on Monday night. Teaming with WR1 Michael Thomas to close out the game, Pawnee got good efforts up and down the roster, while New York's trio of WRs (Thielen, Deebo, and Boyd) could muster little in the clutch.
OPOG: QB Lamar Jackson NYF (38.58)
DPOG: LB Lavonte David NYF (23.00)

5TH PLACE GAME:
#5 South Park Cows defeat #6 Ohio Tommy Boys
Neither of these teams were in the game they wanted to be this week, but both showed up fervently in the 5th place game, which is probably still too close to call. For the time being, South Park edges out Ohio with incredible efforts from Miles Sanders, Tyler Lockett, Tre'Davious White, Travis Kelce, and KJ Wright. But Nick Chubb, Joe Mixon, and a fierce Ohio defense led by Jaire Alexander have the results under review. For now, South Park gets the #9 slot, Ohio #10.
OPOG: RB Miles Sanders SPC (38.20)
DPOG: CB Tre'Davious White SPC (28.45)

CONSOLATION BRACKET:
#7 Phoenix Uprising defeat #11 Savannah Petes
The Uprising's late season surge nets another victory, with Saquon and Julio Jones looking like the first round picks they were drafted as. Neither team's defenses looked particularly inspired, with the bulk of the scoring done by offensive playmakers in this one; Keenan Allen and Cooper Kupp were the scorers in Savannah.
OPOG: WR Julio Jones PHX (35.90)
DPOG: LB Fred Warner PHX (16.50)

#9 Carmel Rudy-Toos defeat #8 Jersey Sanitation Crew
Carmel upends the Crew, as the Rudy Toos have played with a lot of heart the past two weeks, after blowing their shot at the six seed. Zeke and Gilmore take the POG honors, but credit is due to a roster that has rebuilt itself in the late season, even now losing 4th round pick Josh Gordon to indefinite suspension. Fellow newcomer Jersey also milked utility out of their squad this year- both teams figure to compete again in 2020.
OPOG: RB Ezekiel Elliots CRT (33.50)
DPOG: CB Stephon GIlmore CRT (37.20)

11TH PLACE GAME:
#12 Mar-A-Lago Grabbers defeat #10 Binghamton Snipers
Another 'final' game that is too close to call, Pat Mahomes and the Grabbers have secured 11th place for now, despite Chris Carson rumbling and Bobby Wagner swarming. This was not the endgame either team envisioned when they started their years off 2-1, but, both have spots in the league next season, with the fifth (MAL) and sixth (BIN) draft slots in hand.
OPOG: RB Chris Carson BIN (29.00)
DPOG: LB Bobby Wagner BIN (20.30)
