2013 Pawnee Pride

Pawnee struggled in 2013, but lives to fight another day, hoping to avenge its woeful season. The good news is that they had truly awful luck; They finished a respectable 8th overall in total scoring in 2013, but just couldn't get many cracks in the win column. Their mid-round draft position should offer them good value on their 2014 selections.

2013 FINAL ROSTER

Team Owner: Pete Allegretta

Hometown: Pawnee, Indiana

2013 Record: 4-9

2014 Draft Position: 8th

Week 12: 7. Pawnee 4-8 1833.44
The PJers have always been on the cusp of contention, but for a damning losing streak. In 2010 they had two three game losing streaks in a span of seven games. In 2011 they dropped seven straight after winning their first two, before winning out in the final month. In 2012 they won three, then lost three, then alternated the rest of the season. And now they have lost four straight since fighting back to .500. They have to work out a new strategy for preemptive adjustments in 2014.

Week 9: 7. Pawnee 4-5 1399.46
Pawnee's transactions have turned the PJers from an afterthought into a competitive team that could make a deep run, as its pieces develop. Finally secure at the RB position after attaining RB Frank Gore, Pawnee can be content to just let their players trot onto the field and play, no longer scrambling to fill essential slots week after week. They need to secure a .500 record this week against Atlanta, as their final three games come against California, Orgrimmar, and Toronto- they must win at least two of three to secure a spot.

Week 6: 7. Pawnee 3-3 973.70
The PJers are the hottest team in the LFL if you had not noticed; Their once ripe RB situation has soured, but they've shored it up again for the moment, and have done what they can to supplement Victor Crus and Julius Thomas, despite injuries. Their LBs put up solid tackle numbers along with a penchant for big time playmaking, and S Da'Norris Searcy has been dynamite. Also, Pete would like everyone to know that Matt Prater has been the best kicker in the NFL through six weeks, his 34 PATs trouncing the competition. I don't know how to project this team; I guess I can only say, that's why they play the game.

Week 3: 9. Pawnee  0-3 474.85

I was wrong about this team. Despite their 0-3 record, this is a competitive squad that has playoff upside if they can get better luck than they have had, going forward. David Wilson has been a bust to date, and Ahmad Bradshaw has been potent out of the lineup; Until the new Giant exceeds the old one, their roles should be flopped. Their defensive line and secondary have struggled to find consistancy, but two players I maligned (Julius Thomas and Kiko Alonso) have been absolute studs. Look for Pawnee to climb out of their early hole and be competitive over the next ten weeks.

2013 Season Preview

The Pacey Jones Army have not feasted on much success in their three years of Larkspur Bowl play, but they have steadily improved, reaching the top half of the league's overall scoring in 2012, and making their first playoff appearance. If they can continue to trend upward, they will be looking at another playoff spot, and perhaps a shot at the Bowl in 2013.
