2013 Chicago Bears

Da (Bi-polar) Bears looked like a playoff team in the early going, but the wheels came off in the back nine, and the team finished out of the running despite an overall point total worth of the dance. The team will try to learn from its sub .500 campaign and utilize the third overall pick to improve in 2014.

2013 FINAL ROSTERS

Team Owner: Steve Grimes

Hometown: Chicago, Illinois

2013 Record: 6-7

2014 Draft Position: 3rd

Week 12: 5. Chicago 5-7 1859.24
Da Bear's misery continues, as they have tumbled hard from 5-2. After four straight weeks of sub-130 output, the windy city warriors put up a respectable 152 this week, but got trounced by a focused Toronto team. It's a disappointing season for a team that will remain under .500 over the course of five LFL seasons. It will be interesting to see if they can regroup and challenge in the Consolation bracket- their WR group remains an elite group, and is the key to their success.

Week 9: 4. Chicago 5-4 1466.41
Chicago has lost back to back games to basement dwellers Oakwood and Atlanta, and narrowly avoided tanking their season when the league's competitiveness council rejected player wagering. The horrendous output came across the board, as eighteen of thirty players scored 7.5 or less during the nosedive. With one week left before the trade deadline, recent history shows that a major trade may be on the way- Perhaps addressing team wide depth by moving a stud like Jimmy Graham, Brandon Marshall, or Wes Welker for a cache of talented pieces. Conversely, Jay Cutler's return and a win this week, plus the number one waiver claim may help the team stick to its guns and stay the course.

Week 6: 3. Chicago 4-2 1038.56
Da Bears got back on track this week, blowing out an up and down Silver City squad despite a goose egg from their MVP, Jimmy Graham. More worrisome is his health, which is very much in the air- this team has thrived due to the mismatches they exploit on the ends- Graham, Welker, and Marshall are an uncoverable trio, but they need all three to make up for their weak running backs. If Graham cannot recover during his well placed bye this week, Chicago will look far less potent going forward- they've had the easiest schedule to date.

Week 3: 4. Chicago  2-1 511.59

This Windy City team spent 2012 in the cellar, but 2013 to date looks stellar. They're doing it with Jimmy Graham and a killer trifecta of wideouts. Jay Cutler is not a world beater, but he's given them consistency  and they've imported a modicum of running back depth that is respectable, and more importantly, won't lose matchups for them. Steve's team is typically very sound in plug and play IDPs, and has the flexibility at the backend of his roster to keep his lineup stacked week in and week out.

2013 Season Preview

Chicago has a reputation for making blockbuster trades, putting everybody on the table for wheeling and dealing. It backfired in 2012, but has been largely successful in the past: They made the playoffs in 2011 and 2009, and while a string of misfortune made 2011 a disappointing year, it was actually the most talented team the franchise ever fielded. They look to relentless pursue a return to form in 2013.
