Orgrimmar never suffered a losing season in half a decade of competition, and their mantle is merely being hung on the wall, not retired. So it remains possible that down the road, the Horde will ride again.
2013 FINAL ROSTER
Team Owner: Nick Stano
Hometown: Orgrimmar, Florida
Overall Record: (5 years) 41-24 .631%
Playoff Record: (4 appearances) 5-3
Championships: One
LBI: 2009
Week 12: *2. Orgrimmar 8-4 2046.27
After their quick start, the Horde suffered some trials and tribulations before getting back on track. With a win against Silver City, they will likely slide into the two seed, and enjoy a first round bye- which would mean they would not need to count on Colin Kaepernick in a tough matchup with the Seahawks. If Randall Cobb is able to contribute in the final weeks, he could be a difference maker, but Kendall Wright and Cecil Shorts have done an admirable job of filling in.
After a rousing start, the Horde have lost three of four, their overall output in steep decline. With no more offensive byes and lots of friendly matchups on the docket, Orgrimmar has a good chance to bounce back to the championship form they showed during their five game march to begin the season. Any team sleeping on the 2009 champions is in for a rude awakening: All three of the Horde's losses have come to quality opponents with winning records.
Week 6: 1. Orgrimmar 5-1 1069.57
The Horde are no longer perfect, but they're still tops in the standings and in the power rankings. However, concern has to be creeping into their collective hive mind: Randall Cobb is on the IR, Maurice Jones-Drew is the 31st ranked RB and has yet to go on bye, and QB Colin Kaepernick has fallen dramatically back to earth since week one; Orgrimmar's hot start happened despite their QB struggles, if they are going to maintain pole position in the second half, they'll need Kaep to step up.
Week 3: 1. Orgrimmar 3-0 576.91
The Boys are back in town. Orgrimmar has been tops in the league, and it has not really been close. While their starting lineup is aces, their achilles heel RB depth; A third alternative has not materialized yet, and MoJo's uncertain health has to weigh heavy. With four viable WRs, and two of them passing through their bye week this Sunday, look for The Horde to move Greg Jennings or Cecil Shorts for a startable RB in the near future.
2013 Season Preview
The Horde missed the playoffs for the first time last year. They still managed to score a winning record but struggled with motivation, often getting an uneven effort from week to week. Their 2009 champion head coach Nicholas Stano had publicly questioned if he had the desire to return in 2013. Ultimately he did, and the league is better for it.
