2013 Atlanta Rage

Atlanta surged in the final third of the season, but it proved to be too little, too late, as they finished out of the playoffs for the third time in five years. It's been bad breaks more often than not, as Kevin Stabe has had the Rage looking like serious contenders several times in the past, glimmering output that has come crashing down in crunch time. They are positioned to put together an ideal team (probably helmed by Matt Ryan) in 2014, picking from the 7 slot.

2013 FINAL ROSTER

Team Owner: Kevin Stabe

Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia

2013 Record: 5-8

2014 Draft Position: 7th

Week 12: 13. Atlanta 5-7 1611.37
The Rage got going a little bit, winning three in a row and looking all mystical and shit, like a team of destiny. Then they lost to New York, and the rose is off the bud again. A win and they're into the consolation bracket, where they have an opportunity to clinch something they've never had before: A top four draft slot.

Week 9: 13. Atlanta 3-6 1214.59
It's been one step forward and two steps back for Atlanta, unable to string two wins together. They've threatened to get their shit together just in time, and it is time- they have to win out to have a prayer of things. The kicker is that it might not all be bluster: The Rage are primed to pay their best ball right now- and three of their final four games are against teams with losing records. If they can Cinderella their way in, they won't have any obvious weaknesses to exploit.

Week 6: 13. Atlanta 2-4 825.44
The Rage have been bitten by Roddy White, who has not been productive once this season, and is out injured coming out of the bye week. If hypothetically, he and Percy Harvin come back full strength in the near immediate future, the team's biggest weakness might become its biggest strength. If that takes too long, the season might slip through their fingers- another three losses, and their playoff hopes are probably toast. If they were to say, bundle Lynch and Harvin together, they might be able to get a WR1, WR2, and RB2 from a resourceful team and reshape their identity. The team's fate hinges on whether it holds or sells.

Week 3: 13. Atlanta  1-2 401.57

The Rage have been uneven, to say the least. Week two was a powerhouse showing, a team hitting on all cylinders. It is bookended by twin 102 point weeks, pathetically woeful showings. Their litany of mediocre WRs needs a healthy Roddy White and Percy Harvin- or it needs to make a trade, with the McFlys being the obvious candidate. Um... The defense looks good!

2013 Season Preview

After a less than auspicious debut in 2009, the Rage have steadily improved, finishing in the top half of the league every year since. They seem to start strong before dropping some close matchups in the middle of the season and losing steam. They have yet to make any noise in the playoffs, bowing out in the first round both times they appeared, but have the potential to make any year 'their year.'
