VIII: Week Ten Results

After ten weeks, six teams are poised to clinch playoffs spots, and in pole position for the first round byes are the Pawnee Pride and the Manitoba Moosecrew. Each squad surged ahead to 8-2 with wins in week and then, and with just three games to play should feel very good about hosting a semifinal game.

Behind them, Hill Valley jumps from seventh to third with a win over moribund LTP; the Van Halens, the Islanders, and the Uprising were all losers this time around, but remain at the reins. Malibu is on the outside looking in at 5-5; they will have to confront three teams ahead of them in the standings (Phoenix, Deputy, and Pawnee) to make a go of things. Winning all three would clinch, which means they've got to be seen as the darkest horse.

Behind them we have a glut of teams hoping to don a glass slipper from 4-6: HCM City actually could do it, with the point totals to edge in at 7-6; Flailing Canadian squads Saskatoon and Toronto don't look like they're going anywhere, while South Park appears to be too late to defend their title, and New York's back to back to back losses are likely to sink their ship as well.

Savannah's (3-7) loss to Oakwood (2-8) saw each cellar dweller get feisty- both need to close strong to make a play for the Consolation Bowl. Late season heroics to secure a top draft pick could really go a long way towards either team's 2017 chances, so watch to see if they break down or build up in the final stretch.

Week 10 Matchups

POWER OUTPUT:
  1. MDB 247: The 5th highest score in LB history was a true team performance: 13 of 17 starters scored double digits
  2. PAW 232: There's not a scarier collection of O skill position players in the league, and then the D does this?
  3. MMC 228: MooseCrew continue to crest in the second half, playing their best football of the season.
  4. HCM 216: If the Lead Farmers can get the 6th seed, ain't nobody gonna wanna play them in the playoffs
  5. OAK 210: The Drivers have a path to a consolation bid if they can spoil SPC, SAS, and HCM's last chances.
  6. SAV 208: Fading hopes turning to black with bright spots Gronk and Howard hobbled in this one
  7. SPC 206: Squeaked out a spoiler, pending stat corrections, the Cows will need to be perfect and have help to advance
  8. ISL 206: Assuming the loss stands, they fail to take the three seed and lose Alshon to suspension for a pivotal month
  9. PHX 201: A win would have meant the two seed, but with their stud LBs pedestrian in wk 10, they fall to sixth
  10. DVH 201: Another team that had a chance to gain some ground, but had two IDPs score .5 apiece instead
  11. HVM 197: Fortunate victor in a week that had very few of them, the McFlys take care of business and launch to 3rd
  12. NYF 160: Finest WRs were simply anemic in a game they had no shot to win; Montgomery RB eligibility comes late
  13. LTP 152: Holes in the lineup rendered a winnable game completely anticlimatic. Asleep at the wheel?
  14. SAS 111: Their last five losses were competitive. This one wasn't even close, as team morale bottoms out completely.
