Trade 15: The Wicked

Hill Valley and HCM City linked up to swap players this morning, as each dealt from a position of strength; The McFlys had a WR to spare, the Lead Farmers a RB. Each team adds a Jeremy and loses a Jeremy. Lets see how it impacts their rosters as we approach the deadline.

HILL VALLEY ACQUIRES:

  • RB Jeremy Hill

HCM CITY ACQUIRES:

  • WR Jeremy Maclin

The McFlys are in control of their playoff spot but face a deadly week of byes, with both of their top RB options (Shady McCoy and Theo Riddick) sidelined. Hill provides a credible starter with upside who doubles as insurance at the position down the stretch. Capable of RB1 numbers, his volume has been wildly volatile and totally unpredictable week to week. If all goes according to plan, this might be Hills only spot start for the 2012 and 2013 runner-up. While Maclin was drafted in the fourth round to be a weekly starter behind Antonio Brown and Amari Cooper, he'd been surpassed on the depth chart by Golden Tate and Michael Thomas in recent weeks, with Robert Woods and Corey Coleman adding quality depth behind them.

The Lead Farmers expected Hill to compliment first round pick Todd Gurley, but Isaiah Crowell supplanted him almost immediately and never looked back. While Crowell's bye week is still on tap (in week thirteen) HCMC needs to win now to be relevant then, so they can figure out a replacement down the road. Maclin is questionable this week, but should give the team some dependability at the position. TY Hilton and Brandin Cooks are unquestioned top of the line starters- Jamison Crowder, John Brown, Tyreek Hill, Sammie Coates, and Kenny Stills have all had their moments, but none ring in as matchup-proof. They've bought low on Maclin, who was the 14th overall WR in 2015, and 8th overall in 2014.

Ultimately, the winner of this move has a good chance to make it to the playoffs, with the McFlys addressing an immediate need, and the Lead Farmers taking a bit of gamble on overall upside.
