VIII: Week Eight Results

An EVENTFUL conclusion to a hotly contested week eight: The Commissioner moved inactive players left in New York's starting lineup to the bench on Monday morning, allowing the Finest the ability to make follow up roster moves in their tight battle with HCM City. The Lead Farmers still won (pending stat corrections) but the ruling is being unilaterally upheld and setting a precedent for the remainder of the season.

In order to maximize understanding of the new waiver rules, all players ruled 'inactive' before their respective kickoff can be retroactively moved to the bench upon manager request, at which point they will be able to make whatever moves are left to them, within the rules. Ideally all managers will bench or IR their inactive players IN ADVANCE OF KICKOFF to utilize the added roster flexibility that the 'until kickoff' waiver protocol creates. Hopefully this unfortunate situation can create a better understanding of league rules, and there will not be any further controversy- but until the end of the season, the recourse afforded to NYF will be available to any teams in the same situation.

When Larkspur Bowl IX rolls around in 2017, this caveat will be abolished and all owners will be expected to understand and operate within the confines of the rules without aide. If you have any questions about any rule, please contact the Commissioner for clarification.

Pawnee drops and Manitoba rises, both teams sitting at 6-2 with five games to go. Deputy, Phoenix, and the Islanders are all a game back at 5-3, with four more teams at 4-4, and four more at 3-5 all jockeying for those top six spots. Oakwood falls to 1-7 and is mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. They'll need to rally for a consolation bid, two games back from the field, with the bottom two teams both relegated to an empty post season.
