Rookies & Rebounds

We're going to take a look at a specific sort of unproven X-Factor for the upcoming season; Players who are either entering their first season of play, or players who missed substantial playtime in 2014- earmarked at less than ten games played last year, whether due to injury or inexperience. These are some of the guys that gutsy managers are prognosticating for big gains- likewise, they're the sort of wagers that can undermine an entire season if they go wrong.

Typically the longer the list, the higher the risk and reward- by this metric (obviously, devoid of important context like... how talented the player is, what position they play, or what injury they are returning from) the team taking the most chances is Deputy, with ten players who did not have a full season of production last year. The team with the 'safest' draft was Toronto, with Danny Woodhead the only member of the team without a full resume last year. Four other teams have only two 'Rookies & Rebounds' currently listed on their roster- including the three teams that finished in the cellar in 2014: Oakwood, HCM City, and Saskatoon.

South Park
and Liberal are both employing four rookies, the most in the league during training camp; Savannah joins Toronto as the only teams to not currently have a rookie on their active roster. The question with rookies is often about how the unknown tantalizes: will managers know when to be patient, and when to cut bait? We'll see as the pre-season unfolds and week one kicks off.
