XI: Week Ten Recap

Hill Valley's season has been blemished in an upside down week of Larkspur Bowl Action. Six of the league's top eight teams fell in week ten, flattening the playing field pretty dramatically. While the McFlys were joined by Pawnee at the playoff table, eleven of the league's remaining twelve teams are within two games of a playoff spot with three games remaining. Which means... any team that wins out has a pretty good chance of securing a bid. Which means... chaos!

HCM City, Ohio, New York, and Carmel all control their own fates the rest of the way- winning out DOES clinch a playoff spot for the four of them. However, that cannot actually happen, since HCM and Ohio both still have to play New York and Carmel in the season's final weeks. (Not to mention HCM has to play Pawnee and Carmel has to play Hill Valley, where both teams figure to be underdogs.) That opens up a path for any of the league's seven 4-6 squads to run the table and get to the dance, with a total points tiebreaker likely factoring in.

One week at a time we should start to see the pretenders fall off while the contenders rise to the occasion.

Week 10 Matchups

WEEK TEN POWER RANKINGS:
  1. NYF 279: Serving comeuppance to the champs, Lamar Jackson and the Finest put back to back 200+ up for the first time since weeks 1 & 2
  2. JSC 266: A 5 game losing streak had the luster off the crew, but they bounced back in a big way with winnable games in front of them
  3. PRH 246: They'll look to keep their second win streak of the season going via monster defensive performances and Tyreek Hill.
  4. PHX 242: After losing a pair of games by single digits, the Uprising keep their fire alive notching the first of four must-win victories
  5. PAW 214: Taking the mantle of hottest team in the league, but need to get past a rivalry game with DVH to push HVM for the 1 seed in wk 12
  6. MAL 211: The Grabbers win! Pat Mahomes is back at full power, but the team will have to do more winning to avoid risking relegation.
  7. BIN 211: If stat corrections don't overturn this result, their low point total may hinder their push- but losses would hurt more.
  8. HVM 205: The dream of an undefeated season is over, but the McFlys can now focus on optimizing their playoff roster for weeks 15 & 16
  9. SPC 201: The Cows hit a bump in their salvation route, but still lead in points among the unclinched. Won't matter without some wins though!
  10. SAV 194: Three straight losses (and losing 5 of 6) leaves that 3-1 start a distant memory. There's time to bounce back- it is now.
  11. DVH 186: Christian Kirk picked a great time to beast- without him, the inept Van Halen offense is eliminated; Instead they cling to life.
  12. OTB 183: Officially reeling after 3 straight losses, the Boys' glaring lack of depth at the skill positions (especially WR) exposes them.
  13. HCM 165: Jekyll (4 games north of 220) and Hyde (4 games south of 180) all season, the Lead Farmers seek consistency in the end game.
  14. CRT 153: At a crossroads: the Rudy-Toos have three matchups with teams ahead of them in the standings between them and a playoff berth.
