The Larkspur Bowl: XI: Week Nine Recap

Mar-A-Lago came out gangbusters, but has not dropped seven straight to plummet to the bottom of the standings and the first team to ensure a losing record in 2019. They'll have to right the ship to get out of relegation position, as the Manitoba Moosecrew look poised to win the inaugural B-Division at the hump.

The other relegation candidates are the Rum Ham (3-6, having clawed out a victory this week), Jersey (losers of five straight), and perennial Playoff contenders Deputy Van Halens and Phoenix Uprising. Phoenix will be praying for a stat correction overnight after a tight loss to Pawnee; They're already likely to end their streak of nine straight playoff appearances.

Burying the lede, the 9-0 Hill Valley McFlys have officially clinched their playoff spot, and are almost definitely assured a first round bye- the team has fallen off the past couple of weeks, but not enough to dent their record. Behind them Pawnee sits at 7-2 and in a prime spot to nab the other first round bye. Both teams battled in Larkspur Bowl X last year.

After that, HCM City came down from their monster scoring but still won, while Ohio and Marquise "Inactive" Goodwin have lost two in a row, drooping back to 4th. Alone at 5-4 is Carmel, winners of three in a row.

Then, South Park has fought all the way back, grabbing the six seed by virtue of their third highest score in the league; Also in contention are Savannah, New York, and Binghamton- any of the four can likely punch their playoff ticket by winning out the final month of the season.
