One of the leagues most historically prolific traders was able to engage with one of the league's most stringent to get a deal done. On its face it is no blockbuster, but it should have both immediate ramifications and the potential for aftershocks down the road.
HILL VALLEY ACQUIRES: TE DELANIE WALKER
SOUTH PARK ACQUIRES: RB ALEX COLLINS, WR KENNY BRITT
Delanie Walker has quietly been one of the better and more consistent tight ends in the league over the last several years; he's an every week starter at the position, and a viable flex as well. That's where he'll slot in immediately, as the McFlys pair him with Zach Ertz in their jumbo package. Longer term, should both Walker and Ertz excel the team may be able to acquire a premier RB or WR by bundling one of their top-end TEs with a lesser skill player. It's an immediate upgrade with the potential to be even more down the road.
South Park has sputtered out of the gates, hit with a barrage of injuries that have crippled the team's talent core. Dalvin Cook joins Allen Robinson on IR, leaving only Mike Evans and a struggling Isaiah Crowell to carry the load. Needing to take drastic action, the Cows gambled in two different arenas, on two different types of players.
RB Alex Collins has been explosive in a small sample size, making big plays on a short workload. Fumbling issues have kept him from being turned loose early, but if he can secure that thing he could seize a bell cow role and end up a top ten RB the rest of the season. The upside is there and he is more talented than his competition, but with the Cows at 1-3 they are banking on his breakout sooner rather than later.
WR Kenny Britt is a veteran that has gone through several stage sin his career- he's been an underperforming young talent, a comeptent role player, an quietly undervalued threat, and now he is struggling once again. Coming off his first thousand yard season and tasked with #1 WR duties, he's struggled to make the most of his targets, catching only 8 of 21 to date. Dealing with some nagging injuries and lacking the confidence of his coach, he's still in a position (and shown the track record) to bounce back to form. South Park is taking on most of the risk in this deal, but with their dearth of remaining talent they had no other choice; If it pays off, it could save their season.
