TRADE 18: Something Old, Something New, Something Short, Something Lacy

Following another disappointing game from their supposed bellcow, Liberal bid adieu to Eddie Lacy before week nine could come to an end.

PHOENIX ACQUIRES:
RB Eddie Lacy

LIBERAL ACQUIRES:
RB Jonathan Stewart
WR Cecil Shorts III

Something has been wrong with Lacy all year, and after a big week one he's been mediocre at best, non existent otherwise. Week nine was rock bottom for the pro, who lost a fumble and averaged two yards a carry before exiting with a groin injury. The Uprising are betting on him regaining form here, after riding him to the Larkspur Bowl Championship in 2013. With Devonta Freeman and Lamar Miller safe options, the team has the luxury to hope he can turn it all around quickly.

For Head Trauma, they avail themselves of a headache, and gain Jonathan Stewart, who might not posses quite the upside Lacy has shown in his career, but has a much higher floor, getting the bulk of the carries and doing more with them in 2015. They also gain some needed WR depth in Cecil Shorts: He has only played once in the past five weeks, but in all five of the games he has played in, he's drawn plenty of targets and reeled in plenty of passes. As Liberal clings to its playoff hopes, they find some stability and some upside for the last month of the season.
