LBXIV: WEEK TWO

We have moved from two groups to three: Five teams undefeated at 2-0, five teams wallowing at 0-2, and four teams stuck in the middle at 1-1. Week three should start to provide some separation between contenders and pretenders.

Week 2 Matchups

The top three teams in points are also the top three in the standings, with Hill Valley, South Park, and Ohio the cream of the crop thus far; the McFlys and Cows have both shown stalwart defenses and quality offenses, while the Tommy Boys built off a ho-hum week one to score a monster week two- and it could have been even bigger! Had the Tommy Boys played Tua over Burrow and Gesicki over Tyler Boyd, they would have set the all time single game points record at 308.91; As is, they instead are left with a bit of QB controversy.

LBXII Champion New Jersey stayed unbeaten with some late game heroics provided by Darius Slay; LBVIII Champion Manitoba does the same, scoring capably and benefitting from a woeful performance by Savannah. LBXI Champion Pawnee cannot buy a win, scoring the fourth most points in week two but coming against the third most; The Pride are now 2-13 in their last fifteen games following their hard fought loss to South Park.

The Deputy Van Halens evened their record in week two, but will have to wait until Thursday to see if it stands, as their 2.62 margin of victory over HCM City is well within the realm of stat corrections. The Lead Farmers have had some hard luck so far, winless despite going over 200 points in both games and amassing the sixth most points to date.

As for everyone else, teams are still looking to establish their identities: Binghamton has looked strong out of the gate but just didn't have the firepower to hang with Hill Valley. They'll look to bounce back in week three against the Van Halens.

Now that we have seen some game action, injuries and ineffectiveness may spur on some trades- is it a time for patience or proactivity? That's for each GM to decide. With the NFL's new schedule, bye weeks do not start until week six, so there's still a month before the arbitrary absences begin to challenge team depth.
