Things have been happening in America!
As such, football took a backseat this week- to the point that week nine is upon us. Hill Valley sits comfortably at the top, 7-1 and in position to cruise into a first round bye. At 6-2 Manitoba stumbles but maintains control of its destiny- however with a low point total (9th overall) it will need to keep winning to stave off further descent. HCM City and Jersey Sanitation both have superior point totals at 5-3, while Pawnee's five wins come despite placing 13th in overall points.
Four 4-4 teams are squabbling for the final playoff spot: Mar-A-Lago has it currently (2nd in overall points) with Phoenix, Deputy, and Binghamton looking to surge over .500%. South Park stays alive with a third win, piss poor luck considering they're third in overall points; They have an ample lead on fellow three win squads Ohio and Savannah.
The bottom of the barrel is still South Philly (who jettisoned George Kittle right before his injury) and the Carmel Rudy-Toos, who will seem to play spoiler more than anything else.

UPCOMING MATCHUPS
Plenty of intrigue this week with four games between teams .500% or above taking place; HVM vs HCM on the marquee, the undercard lining up PAW vs PHX, JSC vs BIN, and DVH vs MAL, not to mention SPC vs MMC. We could see the standings scrambled next time we check in, with the action kicking off tonight.
