WEEK FOUR: Recap

One month into the season there are three teams rising to the top, three teams sinking to the bottom, and a bloated median full of 2-2 teams. The song remains the same in podium position, where the top three finishers last year are the top three again a third of the way in: Phoenix (4-0), New York (4-0), and South Park (3-1) may have different rosters, but are getting similar results. Flip side,  Liberal (0-4) and HCM City (0-4) are rudderless, while the Savannah (1-3) has gone into a three game tailspin. Lots of mixed metaphors already, with lots more football left to play: This next month will discern the contenders from the pretenders.

Week 4 Matchups

Hope to get to a monthly power ranking and rivalry preview post later in the week, so lets jump right into the players of the week for the fourth time this season:

OPotW: RB Devonta Freeman, Phoenix Uprising (37.6pts)
Two starts, two award winning performances for the Freeman, the points leader through one month. Cast off from Hill Valley, Devonta went for 149 total yards and three touchdowns in this one, and spent the second half resting up. His two game total yardage is 342, with six scores. He's caught ten of eleven targets and toted the ball 44 times, all good for sixteen first downs.

DPotW: CB Josh Norman, Hill Valley McFlys (36.0pts)
At what is typically the most volatile position in the LFL, Josh Norman has put up competitive scores week in and week out: None better than his week four performance, where he made his customary four tackles, defended three passes, picked off two, and took one all the way back to the promised land. If he keeps up productivity like this, he could push JJ Watt out of the way for the DPotY award.

PUotW: SS TJ Ward, Hill Valley McFlys (21pts)
The McFlys needed fortune to smile upon them in week four, as they seek the high ground- their defensive backs made it happen. TJ Ward joined the team and was an immediate playmaker: Six tackles, two sacks for a loss, a forced fumble, and a tipped pass made him week four's pickup of the week. He scored 21 and the team won by 19, that's the difference right there.
