Monday Morning Quarterback: Week One

Too Close to Call:
New York (197.13) vs Orgrimmar (198.68)
Four teams are approaching 200 points in their season openers, and two of them are facing off in a marquee battle that revisits the 2009 Larkspur Bowl. Orgrimmar holds the slimmest of leads, and both have players going tonight: The Horde have TE Antonio Gates while the Finest have Brian Cushing at LB. (The Horde also have CB Cary Williams listed as injured, if he plays it will be advantage, Orgrimmar.) This matchup is truly too close to call, and will likely come down to one big play deciding the game at the 11th hour... this one won't be decided until the wee hours Tuesday morning.

Pawnee (134.17) vs Levee (158.17)
Levee is close to nailing shut the coffin, with a 24 point lead and WR Andre Johnson in a good matchup versus a depleted the secondary. Pawnee will need a huge game from RB Alfred Morris, or a punt return TD from CB Brandon Boykin to have a chance.

Toronto (131.46) vs Silver City (153.08)
Silver City set the pace with an early salvo from Peyton Manning, and still has a couple of WMDs left in RB LeSean McCoy and LB Ryan Kerrigan. Toronto will need something like this to happen to win, and with CB Deangelo Hall in uniform they might have a chance. It's unclear if he will be healthy enough to go tonight, but S Eric Weddle is also a bingo specialist, while DeSean Jackson is a home run threat. Its just enough to hold out hope for a comeback.

Oakwood (88.80) vs California (114.69)
It would not be completely unprecedented for Arian Foster to take the entire team on his back and march them to victory. But it is unlikely. With only QB Russell Wilson breaking double digits in week one, it is all on Foster to try and scrape out a win against the defending champions, who had seven of their own players score in single digits. But with WR Pierre Garcon, TE Fred Davis, and LB Brian Orakpo playing tonight, they should be able to start their title defense with a W.

Phoenix (104.30) vs Hill Valley (193.42)
After scoring an A+ in the draft and receiving lofty projections, the Uprising threw up a bunch of duds on Sunday against a stalwart Hill Valley team. They will need to score 90 points tonight between four players- QB RGIII, DL JJ Watt, RB Ryan Mathews, and LB Mychal Kendricks. A comeback is unlikely, considering the margin, but is not totally implausible.

Already Decided:
Chicago defeats Teamville (191.97-115.78)
Bristol defeats Atlanta (157.82*-102.16)
(*Still has active players, but outcome not in question)

BEST PLAY: RB Shane Vereen, Teamville Players (19.40 pts)
Despite projections favoring Lamar Miller, JohnBoy went with his instincts and played Vereen, who came up big in a losing cause. While Vereen will miss some time due to a wrist injury, he has proven to be a dual threat weapon at a position hurting for depth.

WORST BENCH: WR Anquan Boldin, Toronto LTP (36.30 pts)
LTP, known to have hard luck, will bemoan their game time decision to bench Boldin in favor of rookie Tavon Austin this week. Austin had a respectable game, but Boldin has a world beating effort that would have turned the tide in a tight matchup with Silver City. LTP looks to have some of the best depth in the LFL, which makes their tough calls on gameday a 'good problem.'
