XI: Deadline Impending

This year's trade deadline is drawing near, with transactions ceasing at 2:59am EST time on Sunday November 10th. (The deadline is set in PST, so 11:59pm on Saturday November 9th on the West Coast.)

This year's trade market has been fairly slow, with eleven ten trades to date; Last season there were twenty-one deals, after 2017 and 2016 both stalled out at sixteen deals a piece. You have to go past 2015 (19 trades), 2014 (23 trades), 2013 (29 trades!), 2012, (19 trades), and 2011 (14 trades) to 2010, when the league made only nine deals, to find a lower number.

That said, this year's exchanges have featured several of the blockbuster variety:

TRADE 1 SEPTEMBER 18
PHOENIX ACQUIRES WR MIKE WILLIAMS
PHILADELPHIA ACQUIRES WR CHRIS CONLEY & CB RONALD DARBY

TRADE 2 SEPTEMBER 20
PAWNEE ACQUIRES WR ANTONIO BROWN
MAR-A-LAGO ACQUIRES WR DEEBO SAMUEL

TRADE 3 SEPTEMBER 24
PHOENIX ACQUIRES: RB SAQUON BARKLEY, WR JARVIS LANDRY & TE GREG OLSEN
NEW YORK ACQUIRES: RB TODD GURLEY, WR MIKE WILLIAMS & WR DEMARCUS ROBINSON

TRADE 4
Apparently I skipped past a phantom fourth trade, presumably pre-coffee, while looking at the 'week four recap' blog that came between trade 3 and trade 5. I just noticed this now.

TRADE "5" OCTOBER 2
HILL VALLEY ACQUIRES: RB LE'VEON BELL
SOUTH PHILLY ACQUIRES: RB DAVID MONTGOMERY, WR DJ CHARK & LB PRESTON SMITH

TRADE "6" OCTOBER 6
PHOENIX ACQUIRES: RB WAYNE GALLMAN
PAWNEE ACQUIRES: QB DANIEL JONES

TRADE "7" OCTOBER 8
PAWNEE ACQUIRES RB DEVONTA FREEMAN
CARMEL ACQUIRES WE COURTLAND SUTTON

TRADE "8" OCTOBER 10
PHOENIX ACQUIRES: RB DAVID JOHNSON & LB DEION JONES
JERSEY ACQUIRES: RB MELVIN GORDON & LB DEMARIO DAVIS

TRADE "9" OCTOBER 17
JERSEY ACQUIRES: WR ALSHON JEFFERY & RB DEVONTA FREEMAN
PAWNEE ACQUIRES: WR MIKE EVANS

TRADE "10" OCTOBER 21
PAWNEE ACQUIRES: QB DREW BREES
CARMEL ACQUIRES: RB DEVIN SINGLETARY

TRADE "11" OCTOBER 26
PHOENIX ACQUIRES: RB MARK INGRAM
MAR-A-LAGO ACQUIRES: RB CARLOS HYDE & RB TEVIN COLEMAN

Remarkably, of the ten trades that have been made, nine of them involve either Pawnee or Phoenix, with each team making five deals- one with each other. The only trade to not include either of the two occurred between long tenured teams Hill Valley and South Philly.
