Unto Valhalla: Manitoba & Carmel

Two recent Larkspur Bowl participants are passing into hiatus, as Martin Sheehy and Steve Rudemyer will take the 2024 season off, with the option to return in the future remaining on the table. Both are exceptional fathers of young children and will be spending more time with family moving forward!

For Manitoba, this marks their second hiatus; the Moosecrew stepped down of their own volition, before returning to win the B-League, returning for a three year run of playoff success including victory in the Larkspur Bowl XIII over the Deputy Van Halens.

Carmel had a tremendous season in 2022, going 7-6 to make the playoffs and get all the way to the championship game before being upended by the Cinderella Treason team that hoisted the Silver Chalice.

While neither team had a banner season in 2023, winning four and three games respectively, such is the feast or famine nature of the Larkspur Bowl; the League has announced that it will contract to twelve teams for the coming season, with a novel new structure being finalized for competition, with the tentative draft date set for Tuesday August 20th at 7:45pm.
